The Diptera Lab of the Universidade Federal do Paraná - currently Biodiversity and Biogeography Lab - was created in 1983 when Claudio J.B. de Carvalho entered in the Department of Zoology. Carvalho and his students have authored 170+ refereed publications and presented over 100+ papers at National and International Congresses (see CV Lattes and ResearchID links). Most of refereed publications are on taxonomy or systematics of flies, but many of them are on biogeography, forensic entomology, fly ecology and fly synanthropy. To date, more than 50 graduate and undergraduate students developed projects in the Lab (see people).
